Resistive Bias → ERSFQ Lab

Separate three bills: static resistor heat, total amperes, and dynamic switching. Classical RSFQ keeps the resistor meter running even when idle. ERSFQ aims to kill that static drip — not magic zero energy for every pulse.

Self-check: freeze all activity — do bias resistors cool to zero? NO (classical cartoon).

1 · Static resistor heat

—
∼ N · Ib² · Rb (illustrative)

2 · Total amperes

—
∼ N · Ib (delivery problem)

3 · Dynamic events

—
switching while busy
Forest of taps — red glow = static heat in Rbias (classical) · ERSFQ removes the always-hot resistors

Illustrative constants: Ib=0.1 mA, Rb=10 Ω (not a PDK). ERSFQ attacks row 1; amperes need delivery / serial biasing later; pulses still cost dynamic energy.
